Step 1: Finely chop the banana flower (mocha) after removing the stem from inside. Soak it overnight with salt, turmeric and lemon juice. Wash and boil the flower the next day with salt and turmeric.
Step 2: Marinate the boiled mocha with mustard seed and poppy seed paste, taken in a 1:1 tablespoon ratio.
Step 3: Add to this a tablespoon of freshly grated coconut, mustard oil, salt, turmeric and green chilli (if you want to spiceit up).
Step 4: Wrap this mixture in a banana leaf, tie with a thread and slow cook on low heat in a cast-iron pan for an hour.
